Some sites will not have access to power in which case you will need to install a photovoltaic and battery system. Off-grid living requirements need to be carefully considered to ensure you have an adequate supply to your home. 

There are a number of places to find essential information on your land. Your Land Sales Contract will provide information on services and easements as well as designated building envelopes. It is best to speak to a solicitor to confirm services and restrictions on your land before purchasing your block. Before you commence design work it is best to order a planning certificate in NSW to ensure any special requirements are met and included in your pricing prior to signing a building contract.
