FAQs

The design process can take as little as 2 weeks if you are happy with the initial design presented to you. Bearing this in mind, it is good to take your time to ensure your design is satisfying all your family’s needs. It would be better to allow around 4-6 weeks for the design process.

The biggest advantage to working with a builder and designer at the same time is that the builder can advise the designer of costings throughout the process. At Regal Homes, our designer and estimator work very closely together and have meticulously reviewed your new design and ensured its compliance with your budget before you have a chance to fall in love with your new plans.

It is essential that you feel comfortable with the individual designing your new home. You need to be able to ask your designer questions and refine details with them until you have the solutions to all the points you discussed in your design brief. At Regal Homes, we are happy to suggest a designer that we think will suit your needs. Before committing to the custom design process, we prefer you to meet with your recommended designer to ensure you feel you will be able to easily communicate with them and that you feel comfortable that they are going to provide solutions to your needs.

You will be as involved in the process as you choose. Some clients bring loads of information to their design brief as they have a clear vision for their new home and other clients prefer to leave the creative process to the designer. It is advisable to let your designer know if there are particular needs that they must address but this will be discussed during the design brief.
